Why you chose this article and/or how it relates to the clinical issue of interest (include a brief explanation of the ethics of research related to your clinical issue of interest) This article documents a very detailed proposal on how to effectively implement a hand hygiene compliant student residence at a university. It is relevant to the issue at hand which is hand hygiene.

This article was important to this assignment as it bears reliable statistics data, testing how compliant/ aware health workers are when it comes to implementing and hygiene. In this study, the researchers tried to assess the impact of applying a hand hygiene protocol in a nursing home, and how it can help to reduce mortality rate. This is related to the issue at hand as it will give statistics backing of the reason why the protocols are needed in the evidence based nursing practice. This study talks about the process, and reinforces the importance of having a routine evidence based practice in order to improve patient care.
Brief description of the aims of the research of each peer-reviewed article The main enhance hand hygiene in the student residence by relating the effect of the lack of proper hygiene to the cause. This paper provides the first report of integrated findings from qualitative research reports on hand hygiene compliance among HCW worldwide that employs the GRADE-CERQual process of quality assessment.

The aim was to assess the role of hand hygiene in lowering mortality, antibiotic prescription rates in nursing homes.

The aim of this paper is to enhance the understanding of the important of teaching hand hygiene to nurses, and how that enhances their ability to take care of the patients better.

Brief description of the research methodology used Be sure to identify if the methodology used was qualitative quantitative , or a mixed-methods approach. Be specific. The most predominant method was quantitative, with most of the data being reported in percentages.

The most predominant method was quantitative, but there was mixed-methods

The most predominant data was qualitative, with deaths, number of participant and other statistical factors being numbered.

The data used is qualitative, with most of it being reported in percentage form.
A brief description of the strengths of each of the research methodologies used, including reliability and validity of how the methodology was applied in each of the peer-reviewed articles you selected. Qualitative data is reliable since the testing theories and hypothesis were constructed before the experiment, hence were not affected by the research proceedings. .

The two research methodologies used were reliable because the number of respondents were manageable (36), and the use of the Dedoose analysis software to analyze the data made the process more reliable. This data was reliable since there was a control groups of 13 hospitals, and 13 test groups hospitals. The high number of participants makes the data both reliable and valid to use to make conclusions. The data has been collected from the works of multiple authors and researchers, hence has a strong reliability and validity.
General Notes/Comments The paper notes that hand hygiene is critical to prevent healthcare-associated infections and reduce the spread of antimicrobial resistance. Compliance with hand hygiene practices has improved over the past two decades, especially in hospitals and healthcare settings where multi-modal promotion has been implemented
